Experience |
I began learning English as a baby, and with my mom being an English teacher, I was taught proficient and disciplined English from my early years to present. Today, I am one of those people who notice English errors instantly, but I’m not a “corrector”. I will bite my tongue to keep from being that annoying friend who says “it’s YOU’RE, not YOUR!” With family, I’m more likely to speak up, however! English is a beautifully complex language, and I have felt like an English language snob all through my younger years, like I knew more than others. However, after becoming a true “grownup”, I’ve found that I’m still learning, and always will be doing so! I still learn new words, definitions, and skills often, but I get excited when I’m met with a word I’ve never known, and I make a note of it to save and come back to, while “normal” people who are introduced to words they’ve never known are more likely to simply move on with their day!
